Yearnings of a New Heart

Father in heaven; the army of hell lies at my gates,
They have no swords they have no spears,
Only temptation awaits.
Prepare the furnace, lay axe to root,
Crush that serpent beneath your boot,
Heaping up no carnal gain,
But storing first that heavenly fruit.

You came to set the captives free,
To think that You would die for me,
We cursed and scourged and killed You too,
And when Your wrath should've broken through,
You cried, "Forgive them Father,
for they know not what they do."

Yeshua in heaven; these foolish children mock your name,
Some simple wisdom they do lack,
To live is Christ to die is gain.
I pray that this world would repent,
Before our lives are surely spent.
Gaining the world just to lose our souls,
And letting the world's lust warp us bent.

You came to set the captives free,
To think that You would die for me,
We cursed and scourged and killed You too,
And when Your wrath should've broken through,
You cried, "Forgive them Father,
for they know not what they do."

Alpha and Omega; we should've seen it from the start,

That through the Spirit we may know,
The kingdom of heaven lies in our heart.
Wonder and majesty is your fame,
But holiness, righteousness praise Your name.
"Be ye separate", says the Lord,
How could we ever stay the same?

You came to set the captives free,
To think that You would die for me,
We cursed and scourged and killed You too,
And when Your wrath should've broken through,
You cried, "Forgive them Father,
for they know not what they do."
