Running From God’s Call

Are you praying that God will make you happy?
Or do you just wish He’d leave you alone?
Yeah, Bless me Dear Lord, but don’t call me
To serve you outside my comfort zone.

To serve God is life’s greatest honor
To walk the straight and narrow way
We all get just this one life
To make it count or throw it away.

Will you spend another day on the run
Running from God’s call, running from God’s call
Until your life is done
Running from God’s call, running from God’s call

I’ve seen many great men risen
And I’ve seen many great men fall
Mighty nations come and go
But the meek still take all.

I once heard it said, “What would it profit a man
If he gained the world whole
And turned around to admire himself
And found he’d lost his own soul”

Will you spend another day on the run
Running from God’s call, running from God’s call
Until your life is done
Running from God’s call, running from God’s call
Will you spend another day on the run
Running from God’s call, running from God’s call
Until your life is done
Running from God’s call, running from God’s call

What is your life? It’s like a vapor
We are here a little while then we’re gone
No man knows what will be on tomorrow
Except that we all must face God alone

Today, Jesus still calls to his disciples
“I am the Truth, the Life, and the Way.
Besides me there is no other name
Come to me and be saved.”

Will you spend another day on the run
Running from God’s call, running from God’s call
Until your life is done
Running from God’s call, running from God’s call

Will you spend another day on the run
Running from God’s call, running from God’s call
Until your life is done
Running from God’s call, running from God’s call
