Come Unto Me
By Vic Zarley

The lyrics to this song were written in Idaho. I had to pull over while driving to Doug Ploss studio where I was recording these songs because a preacher I was listening to on the radio started talking about Jesus’ words that we are to “Come unto Me.” Later, after recording the vocal and guitar (at the same time, I might add), I moved to Indiana, married my wife, Eva, and we sent this batch of songs I had recorded at Doug’s studio (15 of them) to Dean Kaelin, a musical genius friend who lives in Salt Lake City, Utah. Dean added harmonies, keyboard, percussion and, on one song an adult choir and on another song, a children’s choir. The project went well and I am happy to present to Godly Christian Music these 15 songs “I’m Laughing Now”

(Start with chorus)
Chorus:

Jesus said to this little child

Come unto me

Oh, can’t you see

Come Unto Me?

My tiny feet move awkwardly
(come unto me come unto me)
This baby cries so desperately
(come unto me come unto me)
But Jesus says reassuringly
Come Unto Me
Come Unto Me

I’m running through an open door
(come unto me come unto me)
Finished eating, wanting more
(come unto me come unto me)
Jesus beckons to my very core
Come Unto Me
Come Unto Me (chorus)

Grown up now I know so much
(come unto me come unto me)
I’m longing for the Savior’s touch
(come unto me come unto me)
But is this only some kind of crutch?
Come Unto Me
Come Unto Me

I’m lost to life, it’s got me down
(come unto me come unto me)
I’m on a perpetual merry-go-round
(come unto me come unto me)
Where’s the love I once had found?
Come Unto Me
Come Unto Me (chorus)

Now the years have sped on by
(come unto me come unto me)
My heart can barely hear His cry
(come unto me come unto me
It seems too heard but, yes, I’ll try
(come unto me come unto me)

The tears do fall, I’m so assured
Though years I’ve so ignored His Word
At last the child in me has heard
(come unto me come unto me)
